  • Mr. Higgs: Good morning. This is Brian Higgs, the assistant manager of S&G. Can I help you?
  • Mr. Andes: Good morning. Could you put me through to Mr. Jack, please?
  • Mr. Higgs: No, I’m afraid he’s out of the office today. May I ask who’s calling?
  • Mr. Andes: Yes, this is Johnson Andes from Wilmington. I wonder if I could leave a message?
  • Mr. Higgs: Certainly, Mr. Andes.
  • Mr. Andes: Could I ask Jack to call me the conference call we’ve arranged for Wednesday the 30th? It’s quite urgent.
  • Mr. Higgs: Regarding the conference call on the 30th? Right. I do understand your point. I will touch base with him. Does he have your phone number?
  • Mr. Andes: Actually, I will give you my mobile phone. It’s easier. It’s 0446 6565…
  • Mr. Higgs: I’m sorry, I didn’t catch it. Would you mind repeating that for me?
  • Mr. Andes: Sure, no problem. It’s 0446 6565 7877.

  • Receptionist: The only place to go is right. Don’t worry you can’t miss it. Take a turn on your left as soon as you leave this building and take the path leading to the next block of offices.
  • John: So, it’s right there?
  • Receptionist: Not quite, this will take you to a side gate. Turn right, then, turn right again. The bus stop is on your left. It’s next to the restaurant. I’m sure you’ll find it quite easily.
  • John: Great, so, make a left and go right twice.
  • Receptionist: That’s right. Good luck!
  • John: Many thanks. How long does it take to get there?
  • Receptionist: It’s about 10 minutes to walk from here.
  • John: Thank you so much.
  • Receptionist: No problem. I hope you have a safe journey.

She started working at our company just a week ago and today, she will present the research our team is conducting on expansion opportunities in the southwest.
  • Ms. Marks: Thank you for the introduction. I am very happy to have the opportunity to share our progress with everyone. Could everyone please refer to the graph on page 2 of our report? As we can see, our sales in the region have grown considerably over the last 3 months. From the start of the quarter, our sales volume has increased by almost 8%.
  • Ms. Jacobs: We feel that given data shows that there is a lot of potential for further growth in the region.
  • Ms. Marks: If you take a look at the next page, we have attached an outline of the strategy that we would like to follow.
  • Ms. Jacobs: Please look over our report. We hope to be able to share more exact data by next week’s meeting.
